1A: South Moravia – region of wine and chateaus

Telč, Lednice-Valtice complex (excursion to wine celery, folklore evening with refreshments, wine tasting – 5 sorts of wine), Moravian Karst (Caves), Brno (Starobrno Brewery), Český Šternberk castle

DAY 1

In the afternoon your tour will depart from Prague (from your hotel at 4 PM). In less then two hours you will reach Telč, a picturesque town with beautiful square, full of scgraffito-painted houses and more. After a city walk, a diner will be ready for you in one of the typical local restaurants. Your journey will continue to the Lednice/Valtice area for accommodation (expect later arrival to your hotel).

DAY 2

After breakfast in the hotel, you will swiftly transfer to the town of Lednice and enjoy a chateau tour (approximately 1,5hrs). Then you will walk through the chateau’s beautiful gardens, making yourself an appetite for a nice lunch, which will be prepared for you in a famous local restaurant. For the afternoon part of your excursion, we will take you on a boat to the Minaret. In the evening, nothing better but a typical moravian-style festivities await you – a wine cellar with tasting of some of the beautiful locally made wines, with a little refreshment and a typical moravian folclore music… Your day will finish with a transfer back to the hotel.

DAY 3

Breakfast, check-out, and on to your bus, that will bring you to one of the natural wonders of the region – the Macocha gorge and Punkevni caves. You will stroll through the cave system and finish the excursion on a boat, that will take you on the crystal-clear Punkva river, running through the underground fairytale domes and caves. After lunch here, your trip continues to the capital of the region – Brno, where you will get a chance to join the Starobrno brewery excursion (beer tasting included!!!), and after that, a local guide will be waiting for you and take you on a city tour (cca 2 hours). Upon check-in in your hotel, the late afternoon and evening is at your individual disposal.

DAY 4

After breakfast you check-out from the hotel and the trip will continue (cca 2 hours) to one of the nicest medieval castles in the Czech Republic – the Cesky Sternberk Castle. You will get a chance to experience how the medieval owners lived then, and how the same family of kin still takes care of the castle in the present. When done with the castle visit, you will get a free time for lunch in one of the local restaurants below the castle, and then your journey will pick up a direction towards the finish of the excursion – Prague (approximately 1-1, 5hours). Return to Prague at cca 4 PM.
